Polkadot will always be our first home and we’re excited to give back with the launch of two decentralised RPCs on the SubQuery Network! These are the first decentralised RPCs available for Substrate-based networks, and they’re now live for both Polkadot and Kusama.

At SubQuery, we provide web3 infrastructure for nearly 200 networks through our globally distributed network of decentralised indexers and RPC providers. This setup allows DApps to access fast and reliable blockchain data on demand without relying on centralised control points. Now, teams building on Polkadot and Kusama can utilise our decentralised RPC nodes.

> “We are thrilled to be the first to provide decentralised RPCs for Polkadot on the SubQuery Network. Our node operators are already running RPCs and other nodes in multiple ecosystems, and, having emerged from the Polkadot ecosystem, we’re ideally placed to support Polkadot developers with their infrastructure.”

— James Bayly, Co-Founder and COO of SubQuery

The new Polkadot RPCs, which have been deployed for the Polkadot relay chain and Kusama, are operated by more than 30 independent Node Operators. Decentralised RPCs enable blockchain projects to operate efficiently and draw data from multiple sources.

RPCs are essential for communication between blockchain nodes and external entities, facilitating data retrieval, smart contract interactions, and transaction submissions. By providing decentralised RPCs, we free DApps from the risks associated with centralised middleware. SubQuery Network’s decentralized RPCs enable secure and efficient web3 communication, which is vital for the robust and transparent operations necessary for the success of DePINs.

To start using our decentralised RPCs, you can connect using the following URLs (both websocket and HTTP endpoints will be supported):

HTTPS: https://kusama.rpc.subquery.network/public

HTTPS: https://polkadot.rpc.subquery.network/public

WSS: wss://kusama.rpc.subquery.network/public/ws

WSS: wss://polkadot.rpc.subquery.network/public/ws

We look forward to continuing our support for the Polkadot and Kusama communities and enhancing the web3 ecosystem with reliable, decentralised infrastructure.
